Will this work for me?

This is perfect for you if you're a new grad in primary care, but it's also great if you've been in practice a few years. It covers the foundational essentials and the majority of what you need to manage patients in primary care with these diagnoses, which is a crucial part before you start getting into the more "fancy" pieces of practicing medicine (multiple cardiovascular comorbidities, cardiorenal syndrome, etc).

Learning medicine is never an overnight fix, but if you complete each lesson, reach out for help when you need it, and use the quick references when you have questions at clinic— you're going to get the head-start I wish I had as a new grad!

Does this have continuing education credit?

Yes!!! Woo hoo!! It comes with 10.35 hours of continuing education credit from AANP, including 2.8 pharmacology hours.

This also counts for NPs who have ANCC certification!

Can I access any module / go through it all at once?

Yes! You can pick your own adventure with any topic to start. However, I highly recommend picking one module and watching all the videos of each module in order -- I was extremely thoughtful (and worked with an instructional designer!) about how the content flows and builds on itself throughout the lessons and it will get you the fastest results and make the most sense that way.

Each module takes about 2 ½ hours to go through, give or take. The lessons are timestamped to help you plan out your time!

Can I ask questions about my specific case/patient?

During this "grand reopening" of the course, we'll be having two live calls with myself and other NP mentors where you'll have the chance to submit your individual case for us to review! When you sign up before Friday, October 7th, you'll be eligible to submit a case! We'll take as many as we absolutely can.

Going forward after that, though, we won't be taking specific questions from individual course members. If you don't join before October 7th, you'll get access to those recordings later, and each module has practice case studies of common scenarios that you likely are or will encounter in primary care!

Does it include pediatrics? Acute care management? OB?

Unfortunately not! Just for adults in primary care.

What if I also want to take the Lab Interpretation Crash Course? Or if I have it already? Is this different?

This is completely different -- there is some overlap in content with the Renal Lab Interpretation module, but it is entirely about the conditions listed, both assessment and diagnosis, but a heavy focus on the management of those conditions.

I'm a student, should I take this course?

I always say that most of the time students have a very full plate with their courseload, so adding additional continuing education may just stress you out. BUT, this likely will complement your grad school learnings well, so really up to what you think you can manage. It would be best to take when you had downtime to focus on it between semesters, etc.
